Blood On Demand

The Tasso+ self-collection device makes it quick and easy to draw a small blood sample for testing, without the stress or circulation issues of a fingertip draw.

The Tasso+ unit uses ultra-tiny needles to pull blood straight into the collection tube. It might feel a bit odd, but using the Tasso+ shouldn’t hurt more than a little pinch.

The Tasso+ is not included in the regular TruAge kit. It is an optional, alternate collection method.

ALREADY BOUGHT A KIT?

If you’ve already purchased your TruAge kit, but had trouble with the original lancet and capillary method, you can purchase the Tasso+ separately to use as an alternative blood collection method.

If this is the case, please contact our customer service if you need a replacement collection tube sent as well, as the tube is normally only included in our TruAge kit

Collect Your Sample In Under 5 minutes

Open Tasso+

The Tasso+ unit has multiple stages of packaging removal, to ensure all parts are sterile.

Connect Sample Tube

Remove the purple sample collection tube’s cap, and pop the open end up into the Tasso+ unit.

Stick & Press

Remove the backing, stick the Tasso+ unit to your arm and firmly press the button down.

Wait!

Set a timer for 5 minutes, and keep an eye on the tube so it doesn’t over-fill.
You can download the step-by-step instruction manual from the button below, or watch the video to see exactly how it’s done.

Something off?

Most of the time, collecting your blood sample is smooth and easy with a Tasso+ unit.

If things don’t go perfectly smoothly, here are some troublehsooting issues and solutions:

Think of the device pouch as a bag of potato chips that you pull apart to open. From one end, pinch the white layer with one hand and the clear layer with the other and pull them apart. Open it slowly so your tube cap doesn’t get lost.

Please go ahead and pick up the tube cap and use it to secure your sample even if it fell on the floor. Your sample will not be contaminated.

The best placement for your device is on the outside of your upper arm, three finger-widths below the top of your shoulder

First, please make sure you are using a new device straight out of its pouch. If it’s new, then please check that you have removed the clear plastic cover over the red button. If the device is already on your arm, please don’t remove the device from your arm — just pull off the cover.

If it’s only been a minute or two, relax. It takes up to 2 minutes for the blood to start flowing.

If it’s been over 2 minutes and you still don’t see blood:

First, let’s make sure you pressed the button all the way. Press it again firmly. If you get a big click and you feel a small prick, then start the five minute timer again and wait for your blood sample.

If you don’t get a big click when you press it again, then you can try shrugging your shoulder or standing up and walking around to increase circulation. Please don’t tap or wiggle the Tasso+ unit while it’s already on your arm. Even 3-6 drops is enough for us to pull a DNA sample, though we prefer if you fill up to the bottom line on the collection tube.

If you’ve already done all those steps, waited 5 minutes, and there’s still no blood – please contact our customer service department, as that unit may have been defective.

No.

There are 2 grey lines on the tube – if your sample fills at least to that first line, we will have enough to work with.

Filling a little over the second line is ok, but you want to stop before it reaches the very top, so it doesn’t overflow and make a mess. Keep an eye on it!

The tube cap can be really hard to turn. We’re working on fixing that, but for now please grip it tightly and twist 1/4 turn.

It will move. We promise.
