TrueAge™ and The Science Behind It
What is TruDiagnostic™?
TruDiagnostic™ is a state-of-the-art epigenetics diagnostic company that offers diagnostics for clinical practitioners and their patients hoping to read their DNA methylation patterns to help diagnose and affect health outcomes.
We provide prognosis and treatment opportunities for you by translating evidence-based research and working with the world’s most influential scientists in epigenetics. TruDiagnostic™ is dedicated to utilizing scientific research, within the genome, to guide the future of medical diagnostics. At TruDiagnostic™, we concentrate on analyzing medical diagnostic tools using scientific evidence that have positive impacts on the general public.
What is TruAge™?
TruAge™ is the most accurate, revolutionary biological age predictor. Biological age, is a measurement of your age based on various biomarkers.
We use a custom array chip and state-of-the-art technology (including a newly developed algorithm, thought to be the most accurate to date) to assess over 900,000 spots in your genome. TruAge™ is available at your doctor’s office or can be delivered straight to your doorstep.
What is Epigenetics?
Epigenetics refers to heritable changes in gene expression that do not alter the primary DNA sequence. Risk factors including lifestyle factors (nutrition, smoking and alcohol consumption, behavior, stress, physical activity, and working habits, etc.) and environmental factors (exposures, stressors, etc.) can impact these modifications, and therefore, impact how our genes perform.
This is important because aging is a leading risk factor for multiple chronic diseases and disorders. Therefore, finding a way to slow the biological aging process is essential. Through epigenetics, TruAge™ does just that. Our epigenetic clock is the most accurate measurement of biological age and age-related disease risk. Epigenetic aging can be reversed, so, it is crucial to understand DNA methylation changes through utilizing TruAge™.
How does the TruAge™ test compare to other DNA tests?
TruAge™ measures what your body is doing, not what it can do.
Because TruAge™ measures epigenetics (changes in the genome), it provides more information than your typical mainstream saliva-based DNA tests.
This test won’t help with ancestry, but it will help tell you what your body is actually doing and what that means. Traditional genetic tests like ancestry.com and 23andMe tell you your DNA sequence. This is like looking at a light bulb and its components but not knowing if the bulb is producing light. Epigenetics lets us know if the light bulb is turned on or off!
TruAge™ uses validated methods such as blood.
Unlike other tests that use saliva or urine, TruAge™ uses blood. While we know that saliva or urine is easier to collect, those methods don’t have the scientific background supporting their use.
As a result, we don’t compromise results for easy collection. With our test, we can guarantee accurate and useful results backed by science.
TruAge™ is the most comprehensive testing method of its kind!
Your DNA can be methylated at locations called CpGs. There are over 28 million of these locations in the human genome.
Most biological age calculations test only 2,000 and often only use 500 spots when they calculate your age. TruAge™ tests almost 900,000 spots on the genome which is 425 times more important data than any other test on the market!
TruAge™ lets you learn more as the science improves!
TruAge™ is just one of the tests which TruDiagnostic™ offers. However, because our testing is so robust, we will be able to offer you even more!
As we compare methylation to health, disease, lifestyle, and treatments involving our patients we will be able to offer more and more tests! We will update you on these tests and our findings on a regular basis making sure that your purchase of this test will continue to provide you useful health information for years to come!
What influences my biological age to be younger or older compared to my chronological age?
Although aging is inevitable, there are steps you can take to support healthy living. It’s important to understand how lifestyle components can impact your body and its aging process.
Several factors that can influence your biological age include toxins, stress, sleep, exercise, diet, alcohol consumption, level of education, and sexual and romantic relationships. Being aware of these factors will allow you to make the right choices to have a better quality life.
For example, assume you’re 25 years old, you smoke, and you live a sedentary lifestyle. Your biological age is certainly older than your chronological age, because it is associated with a higher risk for certain diseases brought on by living such a lifestyle.
